I have been staying at the SkyCity Hotel since it opened and more recently alternating between The Grand by SkyCity and SkyCity Hotel. Both properties are excellent, well located, a wide range of excellent quality eateries in both complexes and attractive room rates. It’s hard to pick a favourite but the lovely free canapés in the bar at Sky Grand are fantastic - very moorish and a great spot to catch up with friends and colleagues. Dinner in the Grill with its excellent meats in the Butchers Block - my favourite is the Rib Eye on the bone- and the great wine list is hard to pass up. Gusto is a close second with outstanding fresh risottos and the opportunity to dine at the Chefs table is a special experience. Then a wee flutter on the tables - what more could you ask for.
